Say one for me

Say One For Me Prayer Initiative

At the heart of any successful church community is prayer.

Jesus said  “yet, not my will but yours be done.”  Jesus knew the will of the Father because he was in constant communication with Him.

As we seek to know and do the will of God, our most basic form of understanding and discerning is through prayer – individual, group and corporate prayer.

Building upon the tradition and background of prayer which has been established in our church communities, we would like to introduce some additional prayer events.  The suggestion is that we meet once a week in each church on a rolling 6 week cycle for  30-45 minutes, probably initially 6.15pm – 7.00pm.  We plan to begin after Pentecost and run through to Advent as a trial period and review at that time.

We will be taking as a theme that often heard phrase, “Say One for Me.”

We intend to have prayer cards in each church which invite people to leave their thoughts and requests for prayer ; these will be used at the heart of our weekly prayer events.  Please encourage visitors and those who attend church regularly to use these cards and we will “Say one” on behalf of those on the cards.

Most importantly, everyone is welcome to attend these short prayer events.  Please come and spend time in prayer and in time of quiet and reflection.  We believe that all who are able to take part will benefit just as much as those they pray for.  Time with God is time well spent.

The initial pattern of these prayer events will be :

The Minster  7th June  19th July  30th August

Membury  14th June  26th July  6th September

Holy Cross  21st June  2nd August  13th September

Chardstock   28th June  9th August  20th September

Combpyne  5th July  16th August  27th September

All Saints  12th July  23rd August  4th October

From 6.15pm to 7.00pm on Wednesday evenings

Please join us for a time of prayer for our Mission Community and our communities or for any special request
